Young-mi Kim studied and perfected her craft in Korea before travelling to Australia to introduce new technologies and share her expertise of Asian hair to us here.
Young’s knowledge and understanding of both Asian hair and culture and Western hair and culture makes her a talented and versatile hairdresser
Young specialises in new permanent styling techniques, suitable for Asian and Western hair types. This includes compatibility tests, permanent hair, straightening, hair relaxation and perming technology. “I conduct most hairdressing services from cutting, colouring, styling, up-styling, forming and permanent styling and bridal services.
I also enjoy the business side of this industry, including marketing, client services, organising and planning, right through to the stock control and the financial side.”
Young believes mentoring and leadership within the industry is important and strongly supports our young hairdressers coming through the ranks. “I enjoy mentoring and inspiring young hairdressers within the industry to be the best they can be. I believe it is important encourage them and it also helps us continue to strive to be the best, to learn and to create.
Young lives for fashion and is the lead hair stylist for clothing label ‘Bora’
Always in search of excellence, Young has won numerous awards in competition with her peers in the Hairdressing Industry.
Since coming to Australia Young has gained Permanent Residency and now has a Diploma of Business and Human Resource Management and is the Salon Manager at Hare’s Hair in Brisbane
